We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Chief Development Officer to lead our expanding Philanthropy Department. In this role, you will manage a team of six Philanthropy Managers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong donor relationships, acquiring new supporters, overseeing the planning and execution of key events, working closely with our volunteers, driving marketing efforts to raise funds and increase donations in our ReStores, and maintaining ongoing relationships between affiliates and Habitat for Humanity International.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of six Philanthropy Managers, promoting a culture of collaboration and support.

·        Donor Relations: Lead donor acquisition efforts, cultivating lasting relationships with both new and existing supporters.

·        Event Oversight: Plan and execute fundraising events that align with our mission and organizational goals.

·        Strategic Development: Build and maintain a strong, mission-focused development strategy in a fast-paced environment.

·        Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of development efforts with organizational objectives.

·        Volunteer Engagement: Collaborate with volunteers, engaging them in fundraising activities and events.

·        Marketing Initiatives: Develop and execute marketing strategies to raise funds and drive up donations in ReStores.

·        Affiliate Relations: Maintain ongoing relationships between affiliates and Habitat for Humanity International.

·        Portfolio Management: Personally manage a portfolio of 50-60 leadership and major gift donors.

·        Performance Monitoring: Oversee development staff performance, KPIs, and goal achievement.

·        Community Representation: Represent the organization professionally and passionately in the community.

·        Board Liaison: Serve as a liaison to the Board Development Committee.

·        Leadership Team Participation: Actively contribute to the Affiliate’s leadership team.


Qualifications:

·        Experience: 5-7 years of successful fundraising experience.

·        Metrics-Driven: Proven ability to thrive in a metrics-driven environment.

·        Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

·        Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and produce tangible results.

·        Donor Development: Highly skilled in donor development and relationship management.

·        Presentation Skills: Superior presentation and storytelling abilities.

·        Goal-Oriented: Driven by goal achievement, with a strong commitment to meeting targets.

·        Flexibility: Willingness to travel regionally as needed and work evenings and weekends.

·        Event Management: Experience in planning and overseeing fundraising events.

·        Volunteer Coordination: Experience working with and engaging volunteers in fundraising efforts.


Knowledge:

·        Fundraising Proficiency: Proficient in all forms of fundraising, including Capital Campaigns, government funding, foundations, corporations, direct mail, individuals, and crowdfunding.

·        Marketing Expertise: Experience in developing marketing strategies to raise funds and increase donations, particularly for ReStores.

·        Affiliate Relations: Ability to maintain ongoing relationships between affiliates and Habitat for Humanity International.

·        Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of using and maintaining Salesforce software.

·        Fundraising Expertise: Strong understanding of fundraising, grants management, and financial risk management.
