Position Summary:
This position is an Associate Director on the Outsourced CIO (“OCIO”) Advisory Relationship Management Team that will be responsible for providing superior client service to our advisory clients. Partnering with our Investment Officers, this role works closely with internal teams including investor services, research, sales, and marketing to ensure effective communication with OCIO Advisory clients. The ideal candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, a knowledge of investments, and be adept at handling a broad range of responsibilities.
This position is based in our Wilton, CT Headquarters, however, we will consider our New York City office for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee 25+ OCIO Advisory clients with a focus on all elements related to communication and management of relationships
- Ensure processes and consistency of messaging for clients (memos, topical papers, blast marketing emails)
- Develop and maintain OCIO client relationships with key decision-makers
- Collaborate with Investment Officers to refine, develop, and execute client framework (i.e. Investment Policy Statements, Strategic Asset Allocation, Analyses)
- Coordinate and participate in client preparation, committee meetings, and new business presentations
- Oversee follow-up and outstanding items related to client meetings and inbound inquiries
- Provide education/orientation to trustees, staff, development office, and student investment group for new and existing clients
- Work collaboratively with Investor Services and Business Development with both current clients and new client onboarding.
- Work with Business Development on lead generation and client referrals
- Share information and best practices among OCIO and internal groups to ensure consistency of communication
- Assist with RFP responses
- Ad hoc projects and analysis
Required Background:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role within the institutional asset management industry (OCIO and endowment & foundation experience a plus)
- Desire and willingness to travel up to 25% as well as interoffice travel
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments independently and on a timely basis
- Willingness to work after hours, when necessary, to accomplish assignments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong work ethic
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; with acumen to learn internal systems – CRM, client web portal, marketing library, etc.
