Human Resource Generalist/Payroll Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Libertana Home Health’s Human Resources Generalist will be an integral piece to a rapidly growing HR department. As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for working closely with the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resource Manager and other HR members while supporting various HR functions and initiatives. In addition you will be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed for the company.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be Bilingual in Spanish.
  2. 3+ years of HR experience required.
  3. 2+ years of payroll experience. Experience with ADP preferred.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field strongly preferred.
  5. PHR or SPHR certification or any other advanced accreditations preferred.
  6. Previous experience leading and working with a team to meet daily, weekly, and quarterly goals.
  7. Knowledge of California employee benefits, unemployment, worker’s compensation, leave of absence and other related employee rights.
  8. Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Suite.
  9. Data entry experience and knowledge of spreadsheets required.
  10. Strong effective written and verbal communication.
  11. Broad knowledge of human resource topics, including compensation, performance management, talent development, policy compliance, etc.
  12. Must be able to take direction and function as a team member. Has the ability to establish and maintain good communications and relationships with office, field, and administrative personnel.



This is an in office position five days a week.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a representation of the major duties and responsibilities of this position. The agency will provide reasonable accommodation to allow otherwise qualified applicants with disabilities to perform essential functions.



  1. Process weekly payroll for all of Libertana and it's entities through ADP.
  2. Review reports and check for payroll accuracy.
  3. Calculate and process manual checks for bonuses, missed payments, terminations etc.
  4. Assist with year-end processes, including the preparation of W2’s, ACA compliance/1095’s and other tax documents.
  5. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions and benefit premiums.
  6. Assist with audits and ensure payroll documentation is maintained in compliance with company policies.
  7. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  8. Process and notify employees of wage garnishments.
  9. Process new benefit enrollments; maintains benefit records; coordinates open enrollment sessions and works with third party administrators.
  10. Process health insurance/child support orders.
  11. Oversees Leave of Absences, including tracking, documenting, and sending notices to employees to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations.
  12. Coordinates and monitors premium payments with employees on leave of absence.
  13. Enforces company policy and procedures.
  14. Processes employment verifications and letters as needed.
  15. Assists with other duties as assigned.
