Highway Intelligent Traffic Solutions, LLC, founded in Texas in 2007, has always been on the cutting edge of technology and is an industry leader in electrical contracting. Highway ITS is currently seeking a Field Engineer for projects in North Texas. The Field Engineer position will oversee various aspects of workflow, staffing, budget allocation, and scheduling of the assigned project.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that engineering plans and designs are implemented effectively.
  • Interacts directly with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to determine needs and communicates project progress through completion.
  • Analyzes and procures materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Provides support and direction to field crews.
  • Schedules labor and manages project resources efficiently.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bilingual—English and Spanish preferred.
  • Scheduling experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera preferred.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business strongly preferred.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license subjected to MVR evaluation.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience (preferably in construction); five (5) or more years preferred.


Primary Work Location:

The Highway ITS headquarters in Cedar Hill, TX.
