Next Level seeks a PR and marketing Account Executive to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Account Director, you’ll be responsible for owning media and PR initiatives for Kawasaki, spanning business-to-business and business-to-consumer segments in trade, motorsport, and mainstream media outlets. 


In this role, the Account Executive will work to secure quality/targeted placements in endemic, regional, and national publications to build Kawasaki brand and product awareness. This client-facing role requires at least three days in the Foothill Ranch, California, office. The position reports directly to the Next Level Account Director and regularly communicates with Kawasaki Marketing and PR departments. 


Candidates must know how to create and implement PR and media plans, leverage trends, write media pitches and press materials, work with media and clients on story coordination, have superior writing and editing skills, and be highly organized with internal and external communications. 


Responsibilities


  • Lead the development of and collaboration on Kawasaki public and media relations strategies and plans across market segments.  
  • Support Kawasaki's two- and four-wheel PR efforts through the monitoring of media outlets, compiling of press clippings, campaign recaps, and analysis 
  • Communicate and pitch media contacts to secure positive news stories. 
  • Maintain up-to-date media and influencer databases, identifying potential new media outlets and editorial contacts for potential story placement. 
  • Work alongside Kawasaki PR and product teams to write and distribute press releases highlighting new product releases and other news.
  • Work alongside Kawasaki PR and product teams to develop technical presentations for new products. 
  • Lead the planning and execution of press intro events, including travel to event locations for site visits and events. Also includes researching and building relationships with new media for events and helping to build post-event KMC reports.
  • Availability to travel to the events, based on a pre-determined schedule of events, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Create positive public relations for the AKM through professional media handling. Work with the AKM to always improve its public image.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule of weekly office meetings, emails, and phone calls with the AKM PR team to ensure proper communication.
  • Provide the AKM PR Team with a monthly activity update through in-person meetings, Zoom conferences, telephone conversations, and emails.
  • Capture data and create 72-hour recaps, as well as quarterly reports recapping Kawasaki media, hits


Requirements


  • 1-3 years of experience with an in-house/agency team or recently completed a degree in PR, journalism, marketing, or a related field 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to inform and entertain via written and visual media 
  • An innovative self-starter with problem-solving skills, creativity, and a strong work ethic
  • Strong computer and analytical skills 
  • Awareness or personal experience in action sports or motorsports a plus (not required)
  • Valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement
