Position Summary:

Part of the Global Sourcing Organization, the Manager, Strategic Sourcing provides impactful leadership that manages and supports global Strategic Sourcing activities and projects as part of Supply Chain operations. Responsible for leading source selection, supplier development, transitioning of products from product development to production, supply strategy, negotiations, contracts and supplier management for multiple commodities and contract manufacturers. The Manager, Strategic Sourcing will provide leadership and guidance to sourcing specialists to drive total cost of ownership (TCO) into everything we do. Besides having a strategic mindset and being a highly skilled professional, we need a strong leader, clear communicator, and a problem-solving kind of person who loves being part of a team and take ownership in everything you do. This position has full responsibility for the implementation, management and evaluation of all phases of sourcing operations and acts as the managing point of contact for the commodity manager team. This position provides sourcing project leadership and alignment of supplier capabilities in order to provide cost and quality advantages.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategic sourcing specialist onboarding and training
  • Manage efforts within Strategic Sourcing to meet project targets and production launch dates across all projects
  • Primary influence with expertise in costing, leadership in making sourcing efficient and transformational, and drives and manages adherence to strategic direction of Global Sourcing to ensure Gross Margin targets and returns on investment (ROIs) are achieved
  • Supervise Sourcing Team milestone deliverables & KPI’s are proactively managed, tracked and met and reports out on all Sourcing Team’s project status, ROI and Costing to Operations to senior stakeholders
  • Proactive risk mitigation leader across the sourcing organization to ensure continuity of supply and creating competition for cost benefit. This will involve close collaboration with Purchasing Operations to ensure mitigation plans are in place and implemented.
  • Captain on-going continuous improvement activities and process improvements as related to Strategic Sourcing to drive better speed to market, quality and long-term delivery
  • Collaborates with Project Management and Engineering functions to establish and follow a robust design process-based NPD guideline for all projects
  • Leadership role for projects that expand across multiple business units
  • Build engaging relationships within Operations and cross-functionally within other Ergotron Departments by becoming a value-added and sought after resource
  • Apply appropriate category strategies (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc.) to new product sourcing needs
  • Provide standard costing leadership to the NPD project team early on in development phases.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment. All other tasks, projects, and assignments as assigned.
  • Additional duties as requested.
  • Supports “Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.

Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, related field or equivalent in training and experience 7-10 years’ experience in project manager/operations, supply chain, or equivalent training and experience
  • 2-4 years’ experience managing and leading people and teams within an organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and ability to prioritize in a development environment
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Hands-on manager with an in-depth knowledge of procurement processes and product development
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Oracle skills
  • Ability to present to stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and team leadership skills
  • Numeracy skills and good financial acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Good diplomacy
  • Goal setting skills
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position
