Primary and Major responsibilities:

  • Manage projects successfully from inception to completion
  • Manage overall quality, contractual compliance, cost/budget effectiveness, schedule performance, safety compliance, client deliverables and submittals, technical drawings, change orders, cost recovery, forecasting and client relations
  • Proactively identify and manage risks from the bid stage through the execution of a project and provide corrective actions where appropriate
  • Manage aspects of projects including design and engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Lead internal and external team meetings - stakeholder management, as well as coaching and development of project team members
  • Provide internal and external weekly and monthly reports
  • Negotiate costs and delivery with vendors and manufacturing
  • Maintain all appropriate communication channels (clients, suppliers, shops, consultants, etc.) providing clarity on all aspects of the project
  • Stop work at site for safety or quality

 

Education and skills:

  • BSc, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or Related study
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex projects in a specialty contracting environment or heavy industrial environment, Hydro industry preferred
  • Schedule management experience including the development and management of intricate projects
  • Cost projections - developing, monitoring and controlling project budgets and costs
  • Working knowledge of applicable software including Primavera P6, MS Projects and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, documentation and reporting capabilities
  • Accomplished communications and negotiating skills


 

Location and Travel:

  • Location to Birmingham, Alabama is preferable
  • Willingness and ability to travel moderately (amount would be dependent on location)
  • Travel will be to job sites, shops, and headquarters (if applicable)
