SUMMARY


This position drives and develops our business and sales for all Life Science products. This position reports to the Steven Wray, Global Head of Sales, EKF Diagnostics.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate Sales and Business Development for Life Sciences business
  • Responsible for all sales in total including management of key accounts
  • Business development for contract enzyme fermentation activities bringing in new business not currently served by EKF Life Sciences


 ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Engaged in selling products from an existing portfolio/catalogue
  • Manage existing customers while acquiring new accounts
  • Efforts to continuously innovate, improve operational efficiency, lower customer’s risk, and allow business to scale when outcomes are proven
  • Knowledgeable with a wide range of enzyme products
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to implement and drive a strategy for sales
  • Establish a detailed knowledge of competitors able to provide services and products matching EKF Life Sciences
  • Build an understanding of competitors pricing strategies to assist in price setting and profitability maximization for EKF
  • Creating awareness, building relationships with key executives, and developing/pursuing leads focusing on Sustainability services
  • Identify priority target markets; develop strategies with local management
  • Provide input to product development strategy and connectivity solutions
  • Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Comply with Company policies, Quality Management System (QMS) and Standard Operation Procedure (SOPs), etc
  • Supporting and/or developing direct marketing campaigns
  •  Influencing decision-makers at the highest levels
  • Leveraging executive level relationships to introduce and create, pursue selling opportunities
  • Teamwork, fostering relationships, and developing consensus
  • Possess understanding of and accountability for customer and product profitability
  • Performs a review of requirements and plans to meet or exceed customers’ order requirements

TRAVEL:

·        As required – 25% or less


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·        Relevant education such as bachelor’s in chemistry / biology or business-related studies. Master’s degree not required.

·        Experience of complex business development to meet specific needs of customers.

·        Minimum level of current sales responsibility - $3-6 mm

·        Must have scientific focused background knowledge to understand the fermentation process, both upstream and downstream.

·        2-4 years sales or commercial experience in Science / Tech industry, enzyme focus preferred but not essential if competence can be demonstrated

·        Experience working with international customers is a significant advantage but not required.

·        Fermentation experience is not necessary though; an advanced understanding is preferred.
