Job Title: Director of Finance

Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer

Location: HQ office in Bentonville, AR

Status: Full Time, Exempt


Position Summary:

The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the finance and accounting operations for Water for Good. The Director of Finance will help chart the financial and operational course of the organization and is responsible for standardizing and operationalizing Water for Good’s financial systems, processes, and procedures globally.  


Responsibilities & Duties Overview:

  • Manage and analyze spending at field locations to ensure expenditures are within budget.
  • Support effective program execution by supporting field finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Effectively utilize the company’s ERP accounting system to produce useful and timely reporting. Serve as the financial leader of the ERP accounting system, continually advancing its use for greatest optimization and elimination of off-system processes where possible.
  • Oversee the global monthly accounting close.
  • Maintain and constantly evaluate the company’s global financial systems, policies, and procedures – anticipate, develop, and maintain scalable global accounting capabilities to support the company’s growth with a focus on continuous improvements.
  • Lead annual global budgeting and monthly forecast planning process.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and cash projections.
  • Work with the CAO to prepare, analyze and present the monthly Leadership financial review and quarterly Finance Committee review.
  • Oversee the global monthly accounting close and annual external audit with outside CPA firm.
  • Support the organization's HR function by managing, analyzing, and maintaining payroll activities.
  • Manage one or more employees by providing workflow direction, feedback, coaching, performance reviews, interviewing, hiring, and any other managerial duties as needed to maximize the potential of the employee, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Work Experience & Qualifications:  

Required Qualifications:  

  • Passion for Water for Good’s mission of transforming lives and sharing God’s love through sustainable access to safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene in the places that need it most.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial management
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial analysis
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience using ERP accounting systems
  • Experience using project management software, such as Asana
  • Hold current CPA/CMA license and MBA
  •  

Physical Qualifications:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times


Travel Required:  

  • Less than 20%. Ability to travel internationally and/or domestically as needed
