General Overview - Asset Manager


As an Asset Manager, you will make ample use of your analytical, communication, and time management skills, while also developing new skills as part of our Portfolio team. This colleague will be responsible for assessing portfolio and asset risk through an extensive evaluation process and should possess general asset class knowledge. The Asset Manager will be able to identify and mitigate risk with opportunities that First Financial uncovers and will interface with and support the Portfolio team as well as other departments including, but not limited to Credit, Accounting, and Sales.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researching and evaluating various asset types in increasingly high volumes to forecast residual values
  • Presenting residual recommendations, via written reports, to the Credit Committee
  • Coordinating with the VP, Portfolio Risk in the management of end-of-lease transactions
  • Working directly with lessees, quoting buyouts, extensions, and early payoffs
  • Covering full lifecycle of end-of-lease process – lessee notice, guiding lessees in return process, analyzing audits, quoting of damages, reselling of assets
  • Growing and managing network of partners and brokers as a resource for residual values and resale of off-lease assets
  • Maximizing resale value by selling returned assets through various channels
  • Evaluating and tracking current market values across various verticals
  • Documenting the status of leased assets from return to inventory to resale
  • Adjusting of lease billing due to asset returns, buyouts, and extensions
  • Managing inventory to ensure assets are moving in line with market conditions


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leasing industry experience - asset, portfolio, &/or credit experience strongly preferred (but asset appraisal experience will be considered in lieu of this)
  • B.A. in Business Administration (Finance concentration a plus) or related field, or 10 years of comparable work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone/email etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot tables, various formulas a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel on occasion as required
  • Positive work attitude and approach to daily tasks
