Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness of the area, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- Assess economic trends and community needs to drive sales and improve profitability
- Oversee the stocking and rotation of merchandise, set up, clean, and organize product displays, and ensure timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates, manage and support customer service initiatives, and ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing associate recognition
- Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives, building accountability for policies and procedures, and measuring adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures
- Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities, including investigating alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities, conducting investigations relating to company operations and policies, gathering evidence, taking statements, writing case reports, and providing courtroom testimony as needed
- Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility, ensuring an effective safety program is in place, supervising safety team members, identifying accident trends to develop and implement solutions to prevent accidents, observing workplace practices, and providing training to associates on accident prevention techniques
- Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and claims and receiving procedures, reviewing the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls, identifying gaps in expectations versus training, determining training needs, and developing and delivering training as needed
- Manage claims and receiving operations, ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed, ensuring the timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries, providing direction for claims or receiving issues, and maintaining necessary documentation and reporting
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning
- Completion of 2 years of college
- Option 2: 1 year's experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment
- Option 3: 1 year's experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment
- Option 4: 2 years' experience in asset protection or related area
- Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection
- Acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility
- Successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- Certification in an asset protection-related field (for example, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified)
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
- Investigative experience
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
