Position Description:

The Accounting, HR & Office Manager is a 30 to 35 hours per week contract position (can become full-time and permanent) that has three main areas of responsibility:

  • Accounting & Administration (purchasing, payables preparation of financials and budgets)
  • Office Management (facilities, purchasing, shipping)
  • Human Resources (HR) (on-boarding, benefits administration; policies & procedures; payroll)

 

The successful candidate is well organized, flexible, energetic professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats. The position is located at the company’s Beverly, Massachusetts headquarters. This person in the future has the opportunity for supervising other staff, but is currently the sole person in these functions. May require occasional travel when company is attending exhibits/conferences.


Compensation is in the range of $50 to $75 per hour, commensurate with experience, track-record, and education.

 

Office and Accounting Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Perform banking, wire transfers, payables/bill paying, conduct all accounting for the company including producing monthly financials.
  • Handle HR activities such as maintaining policies, coordinate hiring, conduct orientation, and initiate payroll, and provide orientation and training to new employees.
  • Point person for equipment and facility maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills and vendors.
  • Coordinate with IT on office equipment.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and landlord, ensuring that all items are invoiced and paid on time.
  • Process expense reports and review travel by employees.
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory.
  • Handle facilities (utilities, security, landlord relations).
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment.


Job Required Qualifications:

  • At least five years’ experience of managing accounting, HR, and office management in a company with less than 50 employees.
  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have experience as a bookkeeper or as a junior accountant, including preparing financial statements.
  • Experience handling HR is a strong plus.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
