Bilingual Japanese / English HR Supervisor Job Duties:
- Oversees the development of programs and files annual reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements, including ensuring HR record keeping are in compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Must possess a very high ethical standards of personal integrity, ethical behavior, and demonstrate sound judgment in conducting the responsibilities of the job, including adherence to confidentiality
- Assist Sr. HR manager in responding to employees and managers in the areas of recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training and development
- Ensure employment matters and policy interpretations are applied consistently across the company
- Ensure that federal, state and local regulatory filing and reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Use Paylocity for on- and off-boarding employees, updating employee information, benefits enrollment, and developing reports for analysis. Serve as back-up to payroll administration when necessary
- Execute compensation and total reward strategies in partnership with Sr. HR manager
- Ensure that benefit communication and related processes (i.e., open enrollment, new hire orientation) are coordinated in an accurate and timely manner
- Manages statutory requirements and reporting for benefits and compensation
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company employees, which include working closely with the Sr. HR manager to develop, implement and maintain such policies
- Assist in ensuring the Employee Handbook and other HR related policies remain compliant and up-to-date
- Recruit, source and identify top talent, which includes partnering with Sr.HR manager and managers to determine requirements for the position and qualities of an ideal candidate; post positions that will attract top talent; ensure that personnel requisitions are completed in a timely manner; work with managers to create job descriptions; conduct reference and background checks; conduct phone interviews and conduct/schedule interviews with HR and hiring managers
Bilingual Japanese / English HR Supervisor Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR generalist experience. Experience working in multi-office and/or global companies is a plus.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in Business level of Japanese
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Interested in someone who has experience working at a Japanese company and has an understanding of Japanese work culture. This is a big plus, but not mandatory.
- Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong working knowledge of applying federal, state & local employment and benefits laws/regulations to various employee and business situations
- Must be self-motivated and results oriented, with strong project management skills and ability to multitask across a wide range of HR areas
- Experience and ability working effectively with a wide variety of cultures, countries and teams
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with a strong respect of confidentiality, Strong analytical ability
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop strong relationships among all levels in the organization and collaborate to facilitate HR processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data
- Capacity to work and thrive in a growing, fast-paced entrepreneurial organization within a collaborative environment
