About the Sr. Mechanical Machine Designer Role:


As a Sr. Mechanical Machine Designer, you'll design automated machine accessories from concept to implementation, ensuring they meet customer requirements. Responsibilities include creating mechanical components, specifying off-the-shelf items, managing Bill of Materials in the ERP system, and outlining operations for controls personnel. You'll also handle parts sourcing, support assembly and installation, create project documentation, review team designs, and provide technical support to end users.


Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical machine design, preferably specializing in machine tool accessories/equipment.
  • Familiarity with Swiss type lathes, particularly Citizen and/or Miyano machines, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in working with pneumatic and electric actuators, along with a solid understanding of fabrication processes for designed components.
  • Demonstrated ability to create accurate and efficient detail drawings for parts and assemblies, specifying appropriate tolerances for optimal component fits.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software and MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively with minimal supervision, while also thriving in collaborative environments.
