Are you ready for a challenging and rewarding career? We are seeking a motivated and skilled Automation and Controls Engineer (A.C.E) to join our team. This position is critical to the success of our operations, responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical control systems at the facility. As part of the automation team, you will play a key role in defining and updating the plant's long-term technology roadmap, ensuring our systems are optimized for efficiency and reliability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced electricians on the floor.
  • Work hands-on in a production environment, solving real-world manufacturing challenges.
  • Lead projects from start to finish with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion.
  • Identify and implement production process improvements to minimize downtime and enhance troubleshooting.
  • Develop standard software and hardware architectures for automation projects, coordinating with multiple teams for smooth implementation.
  • Make informed technology choices and present a technology roadmap that supports both immediate needs and long-term growth.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and USDA guidelines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 2+ years of controls engineering experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Industrial manufacturing experience required, with a preference for food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming Rockwell PLCs (RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, Studio 500), HMIs (FactoryTalk Studio ME and SE), Powerflex Drives, and related systems.
  • Experience with Siemens PLCs and the Ignition platform is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with a range of voltages, from low (24v DC) to high (4160v AC).
  • Strong multitasking abilities, a solid work ethic, and self-motivation are essential.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining respect and approachability.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This role involves standing, walking, and working with your hands/arms in various positions, as well as kneeling, crouching, or crawling to troubleshoot or repair equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods when programming or handling administrative tasks.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be comfortable working in both extremely hot and cold environments, often shifting between them during the same shift.
