The Assistant Operations Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the banking branch, maintaining high levels of customer service, and upholding compliance with bank policies and regulations. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Attendance and Punctuality:
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, ensuring punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  1. Branch Operations:
  • Open and close the branch as required, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed accurately and securely.
  1. Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Schedule shifts, lunches, breaks, and time off to ensure optimal customer service coverage.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Provide ongoing training to staff through regular meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, review work for accuracy, and provide guidance as needed.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and satisfactorily, maintaining a focus on customer retention and satisfaction.
  1. Cash Management:
  • Prepare and manage weekly incoming/outgoing cash shipments to the Head Office according to established schedules and protocols.
  1. Collaboration and Support:
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to cultivate a positive and enthusiastic work environment, promoting excellent customer service and fostering harmonious employee relationships.
  1. Compliance and Reporting:
  • Serve as the Bank Secrecy Officer Alternate, ensuring daily compliance with BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) reporting and conducting regular compliance checks.
  1. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or higher authorities, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the branch operations.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in banking or financial services, with demonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and banking software/systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and fostering a positive work culture.
