Our client is currently seeking a Litigation Support Attorney


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation support, including document collection, organization, and production in response to discovery requests, including third-party subpoenas.
  • Draft written responses to discovery requests.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify applicable laws and understand client relationships.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of litigation principles.
  • Independently perform complex legal tasks related to various litigation matters, including negotiating and responding to subpoenas, levies, garnishments, court orders, and wage deduction orders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Understand field organizational structure and identify key stakeholders to efficiently respond to discovery requests and third-party subpoenas.
  • Review documentation to determine deadlines and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct independent legal research on specific issues.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, government agencies, or officials to answer questions related to service of process and to collect and assemble information.
  • Provide case management support, including monitoring and following up on case calendars, filing deadlines, and conducting paper and electronic docket searches.
  • Possess knowledge of state and federal court processes and e-filing.


Qualifications:

  • Valid license to practice law in Illinois.
  • Experience with subpoena and discovery responses, including document identification, collection, and production.
  • Understanding of written and electronic discovery and ability to learn data map to identify issues with discovery suggestions from outside or opposing counsel and advise senior internal counsel accordingly.
  • Familiarity with legal holds, document management applications (e.g., Everlaw, Relativity, Concordance, Nebula), and secure electronic document sharing (e.g., FTP sites).
  • Strong collaboration, confidence, insightfulness, and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Tech-savvy with strong leadership, analytical abilities, and judgment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to work effectively and cooperatively with internal and external clients, management, and staff, and to coordinate business functions with other departments on multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Professionalism and skill in working in a team environment and coordinating workloads.
  • Ability to multi-task and consistently meet aggressive and time-sensitive deadlines.
