Position: Financial Planning Specialist

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)

Type: Full Time

Salary Range: 60k to 80k



Summary:

The Financial Planning Specialist will collaborate with the Lead Advisor and Client Service Team to deliver comprehensive financial planning and client service. This role is pivotal in managing client relationships, preparing for client meetings, and ensuring seamless execution of financial plans.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Financial Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of retirement planning, tax issues, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Client Meeting Support: Assist in all phases of pre- and post-client meeting activities, including preparation of agendas, paperwork, follow-up notes, and financial analysis.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain client relationships by communicating effectively and proactively addressing client needs.
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with industry rules and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies through research and innovative approaches.
  • Onboarding and Client Service: Manage the client onboarding process and provide ongoing service, coordinating with team members and external vendors as necessary.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively communicate with internal teams, clients, and outside professionals to obtain and manage client information.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed, coordinating with external professionals when required.


Skills Required:

  • Preferred Certification: CFP® designation or progress towards completion.
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years in the financial services industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Practifi, Tamarac, Outlook, and Excel is highly desired.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills, with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
  • Teamwork and Multitasking: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, multitask, and prioritize shifting responsibilities.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
  • Consistency and Structure: High degree of attention to detail and consistency in work processes.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, coupled with excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong financial and analytical skills essential for success in this role.
