The Grant Coordinator performs administrative tasks coordinating the implementation and evaluation of the Nourishing Newark Initiative. The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Chief Sustainability Officer as she oversees the successful implementation of a number of grant programs.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Sustainability Officer.

Qualifications:

Deep commitment to, understanding of, and experience with sustainability, environmental justice, climate justice, social justice, and the intersections with community engagement

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in grant management

Primary Job Duties:

Communicate with grantees to receive grant reporting documents

Support the preparation of reports on progress made

Track grantees expenditures and update project budgets

Maintain files, media, image, and digital library

Coordinate calendars and schedule meetings and site visits

Resolve a wide variety of situations, either by researching and/or answering questions personally or forwarding to appropriate person/entity

Secondary Job Duties:

Support the planning and implementation of the Brought to the Table event

Represent the Office of Sustainability at relevant community events

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent oral communication, writing, and presentation skills required.

Must have strong project management skills, including ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate as appropriate. Must be able to meet required deadlines while working on a variety of projects. Must have capacity to work as a team member and leader as well as ability to work independently.

Must be proficient in the use of a computer and software programs such as word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required to accomplish computer and office work.

Valid NJ Driver's License.
