Position Title:

Warehouse Supervisor


Function:

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the receiving, storage, and internal material handling of components and finished goods. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures smooth and consistent operations, locating and distributing products and supplies to the appropriate departments efficiently and effectively to meet internal and external customer requirements. Ensure the accuracy and availability of inventory within the warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager.


Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises warehouse staff consisting of the receiving, material handling, and inventory control functions.
  • Collaborates with Production Planner to ensure proper inventory levels are kept
  • Oversees incoming materials and outgoing subcontract orders to ensure available inventory for production and shipping department
  • Plans and coordinates work, ensures warehouse personnel’s ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage racks
  • Oversees the unloading of all materials in the receiving department, ensuring materials are staged for counting and inspection and accurate reports of all raw materials received are maintained.
  • Ensure inventories are accurate through cycle counts, demand counts, and pre-counts for end of year inventory physical.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective measure for non-conformances
  • Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control to ensure timely data entry.
  • Utilize Sage X3 to complete all transactions for inventory control and material handling processes
  • Identify and improve process constraints, as well through continued improvement events and team development sessions
  • Upholds a “lead by example” and “servant leadership” attitude at all times
  • Oversees the order plans for production supplies and ensures materials are brought over to the department in a timely manner
  • Ownership of all internal and external movements including subcontractor orders and external warehouses (amazon, suppliers, etc)
  • Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Maintains vehicle maintenance report
  • Works with the WMS (Warehouse Management System) to create reports, confirm product quantity and location, cycle count product, convert product configuration, transfer product and tracks order progress
  • Create and update SOP and WI proactively to ensure continuous improvement is achieved
  • Coordinates with maintenance department to ensure that equipment repair needs are timely met
  • Performs other related duties as required


Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ minimum experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management in a manufacturing environment with two years supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods, and best practices
  • Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations
  • Possess excellent analytical skills
  • Flexibility – schedule, work tasks, direction, etc.
  • Collaborative team work
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
  • Experience using MHE (Material Handling Equipment): Stand up forklift (Reach truck) a must, also able to train on MHE
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Cosmetic GMP/ ISO 9001:2015 storage and handling experience is a plus
  • Hazwoper training and hazardous materials handling and storage


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position manages, develops and counsels all employees of the Receiving, Material Handling, and Inventory control department.
  • Responsible for the performance management and training of the employees within that department


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, operations management, business management preferred or equivalent of 4+ years of hands on shipping operations work experience
  • Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus
  • Stand Up/Cherry Picker Forklift operation certified


Certificates:

  • Lean Manufacturing certificate a plus

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of the day; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75lbs occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and varying temperatures depending on the time of year.
