SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the fabrication processes within the shop, including the efficient preparation, production, processing, and dispatching of fabricated products to the Quality Control Department. This role ensures that all fabrication activities meet company quality standards and production schedules. The Fabrication Supervisor will lead and manage a team, coordinate with planners, and optimize the use of resources to achieve high productivity and quality in all fabrication operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and train staff involved in the fabrication process to ensure efficient production and adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Estimate staff and material needs based on the production plan and sales forecasts; make scheduling recommendations to the Scheduler.
  • Implement and delegate the fabrication schedule to meet daily production targets; adjust procedures as necessary to maintain efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Planners to ensure production levels meet customer orders and needs; review min/max product levels and recommend changes to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor equipment performance and safety in the work area; ensure equipment meets production needs and safety standards. Coordinate necessary repairs and training with the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, quality, safety, and manufacturing processes.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all safety regulations and practices are followed by the team.
  • Maximize productivity and manage critical aspects of the process for optimal output; ensure that the team is properly trained and aware of safety procedures.
  • Train new employees to effectively perform their duties while adhering to safety standards; foster high performance, discipline, and morale.
  • Evaluate staff performance; recommend and implement personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
  • Ensure timely availability of finished products for proper distribution.
  • Inspect and assess the quality of fabricated products; collaborate with Quality Control to address rejects and damages and implement corrective actions when quality standards are not met.
  • Enforce Company Rules and Regulations and Safety and Health Programs.
  • Sustain 5S practices in workstations.
  • Uphold ESL’s core values daily and adhere to all rules and regulations in the employee handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and follow all safety procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in production and operations.
