Reports to: Product Development Manager



On behalf of our customer, we are seeking a Global Sourcing Manager.


Position Overview

Our customer specializes in commercial outdoor site furnishings and traffic safety products. As they expand their operations and sourcing activities to new regions, they are seeking a talented and experienced Global Sourcing Manager to join their team and lead their sourcing efforts.


As the Global Sourcing Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and play a critical role in developing and executing their global sourcing strategy. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding global suppliers (Vietnam, Mexico, China, and beyond) as well as domestic US suppliers. Your ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure product quality and compliance will be essential to their success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product sourcing strategy to ensure a diverse and reliable supplier base
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and serve as primary point of contact for any sourcing-related inquiries or issues
  • Identify, assess, and qualify potential suppliers and manufacturers, considering factors such as quality, cost, reliability, logistics and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings, mitigate risks, and optimize supply chain efficiency
  • Lead projects consisting of cross-functional teams to transfer existing products to new vendors
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including product management, engineering and logistics teams, to support new product launches and ongoing supply chain operations
  • Regularly assess supplier performance, assess quality levels, conduct audits, address any issues or discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement
  • Stay informed about political developments, trade policies and regulatory changes in sourcing countries and develop contingency plans to address potential disruption in supply chain
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in product sourcing, procurement, and managing third party suppliers, preferably with coated metal products
  • Deep understanding of sourcing principles, procurement best practices, and global supply chain dynamics
  • Proven record of successfully developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and achieving cost savings
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese and/or Spanish is a plus

Ability to travel globally as required (Approximately 20% - 30%)
