Hire Type: Onsite, Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/hour (W2 w/full employee benefits)


Overview:

Job Summary:

The Construction Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining the construction safety program for a large global pharmaceutical manufacturing company. This person will ensure that safety policies and procedures are being followed during facility construction and renovation projects.


Job Duties:

  • Ensure that facility construction projects are compliant with all required safety policies.
  • Manage the company’s contractor safety program. Responsible for safety training.
  • Conduct periodic walk-downs of construction sites and document any non-conformances or discrepancies.
  • Will work on both high-risk (i.e., building demolition) and low-risk (i.e., renovation) projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
  • Must come from the construction industry, working as a safety professional.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, safety procedures, and construction terminology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to construction workers and project stakeholders.
  • OSHA 1926 certification is helpful.
  • Ability to work onsite daily in North Chicago, IL.
