Technical Sales Engineer- RFID/BLE- 50% Travel


Optomi, in partner with an industry leader, is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer. This person will be supporting different teams to help select technology providers, doing site surveys, and defining technical solutions, specifically from a Radio Frequency Identification perspective. This platform will interact with various hardware devices to provide a robust solution for tracking sensor enabled packaging throughout a product's supply chain. This role will travel roughly 50% of the time.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers, partners, and others in identifying hardware needs for specific solution implementations.
  • Conduct site surveys and work with sales teams to identify technology solutions.
  • Work with hardware providers to establish partnerships or reseller agreements.
  • Work with software engineers to understand capabilities of various hardware devices and how those devices can augment the SaaS platform.
  • Create documentation of hardware capabilities and limitations for approved hardware devices.
  • Work with Engineering and user community to define and develop testing plans to validate hardware solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Provide direction for conducting site surveys at customer locations to determine optimal hardware configurations.
  • Act as subject matter expert for sensor technologies.

  • Bluetooth experience
  • Must have 5+ years of hardware or IoT experience; experience in configuring / deploying solutions in diverse environments a plus.
  • Experience with multiple desktop and mobile operating systems and web browsers.
  • Ability to lead projects and coordinate activities through a diverse group of people including internal co-workers, as well as external contractors and consultants. The ability to coordinate and guide collaboration is especially critical.
