How this position fits at Scrapbook.com: Full-time, M-F, In-House

We are seeking a Controller to join our growing organization and lead our financial operations. This position is 100% on-site. E-commerce experience is preferred but not required.


Position Overview: The Controller is responsible for ensuring the company's financial integrity and helping drive strategic growth. This role leads financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes to provide actionable insights for decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will optimize financial systems and controls to support scalability while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Modernize and systematize financial operations to enhance controls, visibility, and data-driven decision-making
  • Oversee and execute key finance and accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, transaction reconciliation, and budgeting
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, shipping negotiations, tax credits, and financial forecasting
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Research and propose ROI-supported technology and automation solutions
  • Optimize cost accounting processes and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and international financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
  • Coordinate with external auditors and address any arising issues
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, which currently consists of a part-time accounts payable specialist and a part-time bookkeeping contractor
  • Provide financial oversight for the Creative Kindness Foundation


Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial management, preferably in a similar industry. 2-5 years experience in a senior financial role required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to align financial strategies with business objectives
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools and techniques
  • Expertise in designing and implementing internal control systems
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required
  • Quickbooks experience preferred, but not required
