Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train shipping and receiving staff to ensure accurate and efficient processing of shipments.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to optimize workflow and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to improve performance and address any issues.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality of products.
  • Coordinate the shipping and delivery of products to customers, including preparing shipping documents and coordinating with carriers and logistics partners.
  • Manage inventory levels and reorder materials or products as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in warehouse operations, including enforcing safety regulations and guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and team members to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize shipping and receiving procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving, with at least [X] years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and shipping software, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (if required).
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (if required).
