About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join StellarPay and play a critical role in ensuring our platform operates within regulatory guidelines while promoting transparency, security, and innovation. The Compliance Officer will oversee our compliance framework, develop and implement policies, and ensure adherence to global regulatory standards, particularly in the U.S., Europe, and other key markets.


This role is essential in navigating the complexities of financial regulations in both traditional and digital finance, making it ideal for someone passionate about fintech and compliance.


Responsibilities


Regulatory Oversight: Ensure StellarPay adheres to global financial regulations, including AML, KYC, GDPR, PSD2, and NACHA standards.

Policy Development: Design, implement, and update compliance policies, procedures, and protocols.

Licensing Management: Oversee the acquisition and maintenance of required money transmitter licenses (MTLs), crypto licenses, and other relevant certifications.

Transaction Monitoring: Supervise real-time transaction monitoring to detect and report suspicious activities, leveraging tools like Plaid Signal and other fraud prevention systems.

Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential regulatory risks.

Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for employees on compliance requirements and best practices.

Partnership Oversight: Evaluate and ensure third-party vendors and partners meet regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Reporting: Manage reporting obligations, including SARs, CTRs, and other regulatory filings as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the legal, product, and operations teams to embed compliance considerations into all aspects of StellarPay’s business.


Qualifications


Experience: 5+ years in compliance roles within the fintech, payments, banking, or cryptocurrency sectors.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) are a plus.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of AML, KYC, GDPR, PSD2, NACHA, and other financial regulations.

Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with compliance tools and technology, including transaction monitoring systems, risk management platforms, and regulatory reporting tools.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory requirements clearly.

Problem-Solving: Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and propose practical, scalable solutions.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment where priorities can shift rapidly.

Passion for Fintech: Excitement about the intersection of traditional finance and the digital asset economy.
