Account Executive

Columbia, United States CTI - Gas Detection Specialists Full time

The Account Executive will work directly with customers to learn their goals and establish how CTI products and services can meet their needs. The Account Executive will respond to existing customer inquiries and potential customers via inbound leads that come through various marketing channels. A technical understanding of CTI products and services is necessary to design and support gas detection systems to meet customer specific needs, per applicable code requirements. The Account Executive will maintain customer relationships and acquire new customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries over the phone, video call, and by email.
  • Work directly with customers to identify growth opportunities and to establish how CTI can meet their needs. Regularly meet quotas, goals and other forms of customer and business expectations.
  • Target qualified leads for new opportunities; must communicate convincingly and professionally via phone calls, video meetings, and email.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales team members to drive customer outreach and key market penetration.
  • Maintain relationships with current customers and potential customers.
  • Prospect new sales by cold calling businesses & following up on leads.
  • Follow company quote to order process.
  • Report and record all customer interactions in a web-based CRM system.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer requests are fulfilled.
  • Follow up with customers that have a significant drop in sales and refresh relationships, as needed.
  • Prepare and present proposals and bids. Design and convey system operation and installation best practices to prospective buyers.
  • Attend industry tradeshows and other events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, required. May substitute equivalent years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of technical B2B sales experience (required).
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with gas detection, HVAC controls, industrial/commercial electrical, or similar fields (preferred).
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Proficient with Office 365, CRM tools, and web-based applications.
