Job Summary and Responsibilities:

The Account Manager develops and manages the pipeline of opportunities, generates revenue, and provides support for an assigned region and specific accounts. The person in this role is knowledgeable in the region of the company's products and knows the key customers (e.g., OEMs and CMs) to focus on in the area and events to find new customer opportunities. Responsibilities include:

  • Building strategic and valuable relationships by visiting customers within a broadly assigned region.
  • Working with team members across functions to ensure customers have an excellent experience throughout the sales process.
  • Identifying customers’ engineering contacts in electrical, mechanical, quality, system, and optical to aid in identifying new programs aiming for a Design Win with COTSWORKS products.
  • Discovering opportunities at target OEMs or new OEMs by networking within an OEM, adjacent to, or with Product Marketing or a partner's help.
  • Developing opportunities by making outbound calls, receiving inbound calls, sending/receiving emails, creating presentations, and coordinating calls with customers and appropriate internal departments.


This job is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). The Account Manager works within Cleveland, Ohio or remotely outside of Cleveland on the company's network. Due to classified work at our facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. citizenship (No Green card or Visa) for consideration for a position at COTSWORKS, INC.


COTSWORKS, INC. designs and manufactures rugged optical components and subsystems to operate in harsh environments. Products are utilized worldwide in commercial and military aerospace, tactical, oil and gas, and other industrial markets. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility produces over 100,000 mission-critical rugged optoelectronic and interconnect products yearly. The company maintains a quality program with ISO 9100:2015 + AS9100D Certification and ATEX Compliance.


Qualification requirements include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and three years of experience working, with sales processes, mechanisms, and tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in electronics and fiber optics is preferred with a similar goal for aerospace, military, and industrial marketplace analysis and synthesis.
  • A propensity toward developing and maintaining relationships at high-technology CMs and OEMs and the ability to collaboratively build relationships and work across diverse groups and functional areas.
  • Proficient in writing, verbally communicating, and presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Well-developed organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to manage effectively competing priorities in a multi-task, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with using standard office productivity tools and equipment (i.e., basic keyboarding skills, CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Suite).
  • An ability to travel 20-30% of the work week per month.
