Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or construction management, with a proven track record in estimating and costing for civil infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation and Costing:

  - Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  - Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.

  - Utilize estimating software and tools proficiently to ensure accuracy and efficiency in estimates.

  

2. Bid Management:

  - Coordinate and manage the entire bidding process from receipt of bid documents to submission of the final bid.

  - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.

  - Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure completeness and accuracy.


3. Project Coordination:

  - Work closely with project teams to review plans and specifications and provide value engineering options as needed.

  - Participate in pre-construction meetings and discussions to provide insights on cost estimates and project requirements.

  - Assist in developing project schedules and identifying critical milestones.


4. Cost Analysis and Reporting:

  - Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking for completed projects to refine estimating techniques and improve accuracy.

  - Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates and bid proposals to management and clients.

  - Maintain records of estimates, bids, and other relevant documentation.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Civil Construction Estimator, preferably with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.

- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, etc.) and MS Office Suite.

- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with clients.
