Sphere Fluidics, a leader in single cell analysis and isolation technologies, seeks a passionate and results-oriented Field Applications Scientist (FAS). You will join a growing team and support our global expansion in the US market. As part of the onboarding, the successful candidate would need to spend some time in our HQ in Cambridge UK. 

 

About Sphere Fluidics: 

Our innovative platforms are built on scientific and engineering expertise spanning over a decade. Originally spun out from the University of Cambridge, we specialize in helping researchers find their most critical cells. Leveraging our picodroplet microfluidic technology, we offer high-throughput solutions for single cell isolation and analysis across various applications, including biologics discovery, cell engineering, and synthetic biology. The Role: 

In this exciting position, you will play an important role in supporting sales growth and customer success within the territory. Working closely with the Regional Account Managers, Inside Sales Representatives and Marketing, you will leverage your strong technical background and consultative training and support experience to establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients in the life science sector (BioPharma, Biotech, CRO/CDMOs, etc), with a focus on Single Cell and Proteomic applications within the areas of Cell Line Development, Antibody Discovery, Bioprocessing, Cell & Gene Therapy, and more. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide customers with comprehensive application training on using Sphere Fluidics’ technologies and products. 
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting to customers via e-mail, telephone or via visits to customer sites. 
  • Carry out feasibility studies, new product development projects, contribute to product design, evaluation and testing. 
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical and scientific presentations to prospective or existing customers. 
  • Maintain meticulous CRM data to effectively monitor customer account status. 
  • Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge in order to act as a trusted partner for our customers. 
  • Monitor feedback from customers regarding their product requirements and communicate their needs to other relevant groups in the company. 
  • Contribute to the creation and review of technical materials, including user manuals, application guidelines, application notes, white papers and presentations. 
  • Interact and support Service, Sales and Marketing efforts at the Company. 
  • Travel throughout the territory (45-65%) to meet with potential and existing clients and attend industry events. 
  • Be a powerful evangelist for the company, brand, technology, products, and customers. 

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in the life science sector, covering areas of bioprocess engineering, biotherapeutics development, or scientific instrument development. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences discipline (Master's or PhD preferred). 
  • Strong technical background in Single Cell Proteomics, Cell Line Development or related fields. 
  • Excellent verbal, documentation and communication skills 
  • Excellent presentation, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Enthusiastic and excellent teamwork capabilities.
