KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the compliance manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Develop and maintain operational standards for safety, inventory control, and cannabis compliance
  • Serve as the in-house expert on California cannabis regulations, ensuring adherence to state laws
  • Perform audits and investigations to confirm policies and procedures are being followed
  • Implement corrective actions promptly to address any compliance deficiencies
  • Lead inventory audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Work closely with the operations team to develop and execute efficient solutions
  • Handle routine tasks under supervision, escalating complex issues to senior management
  • Demonstrate diligence, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic
  • Contribute to company objectives and perform additional tasks as required
  • Review packaging and product compliance

TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management processes
  • Experience with quality management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on training and staff development
  • Familiarity with various cannabis products and regulations
  • Experience with cannabis software like Metrc, ERP, and other track-and-trace systems preferred
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a professional approach
  • Team-player mentality and ability to thrive in a start-up environment


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain management, business, economics, or a related field
  • Prior experience working in cannabis compliance, including familiarity with regulations, licensing, and operational standards in the cannabis industry.Compliance-specific certifications are a plus
