The Mizzouri LLC operations team is critical to our success, they keeps the entire internal team and client team on track throughout the course of every engagement. The Associate Project Manager (APM) is responsible for managing the project logistics that enable us to meet client needs and support Mizzouri’s growth. The APM collaborates with partners, researchers, clients, suppliers, and peers to drive client delight and ensure project profitability.

 

Each member of the operations team leverages problem-solving skills to quickly and efficiently resolve issues that arise over the course of a project. Mizzouri moves at a fast pace. So, successful APMs are those who are able to jump in and embrace a steep learning curve.

 

We’ve outlined details of the APM role below. As with any job description, this summary is intended to convey the essential information you need to understand the scope of the position. It is not an exhaustive list of skills, duties, responsibilities, or accountabilities.

 

Business results

  • Understands and proactively manages all required activities and the cost and timing implications of every step of a project.
  • Manages project scope changes and anticipates how these impact budget as well as project planning and delivery.
  • Takes measures to ensure that each step in the project process goes smoothly. This includes details such as securing time on calendars and ensuring the right people are included in meeting invites, preparing for meetings, ensuring that partners and other participants have the materials they need to prepare, understanding and testing (as needed) call-in and screen-share technologies, taking notes, identifying changes to project scope as a result of meetings and addressing the cost and timing implications of those changes, etc.


 

Project management expertise

  • Thoughtfully and accurately prices projects with minimal direction.
  • Understands the project lifecycle and anticipates next steps across all types of projects (qualitative, quantitative, training, and consulting).
  • Facilitates the exchange of critical information with the team in a timely, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
  • Prioritizes (and reprioritizes) effectively across all projects and general business tasks.
  • Communicates clearly and quickly when changes to project priorities will impact other team members’ projects.
  • Constantly considers several steps ahead in the project process to enable planning and preparation.
  • Codes unstructured data accurately and efficiently.
  • Owns the logistical elements of a project from initial client engagement through invoicing. Initiates any necessary follow-up steps with client.
  • Follows Mizzouri standard operating procedures to drive consistency across projects and clients.
  • Works effectively within the Mizzouri systems throughout the project lifecycle (WorkflowMax, Box, Ascribe, MS Office, and other programs we may incorporate over time).
  • Accurately tracks own time against projects and tasks.
  • Takes initiative to build skills and knowledge in project management, research design, project execution, and analysis as well as business and finance.
  • Client delight
  •  In this client-facing role, demonstrates strong client service orientation and earns client trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand and translate client needs and shares that information across all parts of the Mizzouri organization.


Education:

  • BA/BS degree
  • MMR, MBA, MMS, or other advanced degree is a plus


Experience:

  • 2+ years working experience in a professional environment


Knowledge/skills/abilities/attributes:

  • Strong organizational skills and stellar attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and in a grammatically correct manner).
  • Ability to think beyond the purpose of a given task to see the broader picture.
  • High level of proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work successfully with high-collaboration and high-performance teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple individual accountabilities and team responsibilities.
  • Ability to support, protect, and enhance the Mizzouri culture.

  • Fluent in English
  • Available to work in Franklin, TN as needed (at least 2 - 4 times per month)
