Overview: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Risk Director to join our team. Our company provides a comprehensive platform for financial advisors to manage their clients' money, handling account tracking and transaction processing. The Risk Director will lead the risk management function, ensuring that all aspects of our operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices while mitigating potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Risk Assessment: Oversee the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks across the organization, including operational, financial, compliance, and technology risks.
  • Policy Development: Establish and maintain risk management policies and procedures to ensure effective risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor risk indicators and metrics. Prepare and present detailed risk reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Incident Management: Lead the investigation and analysis of risk incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution and reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the risk management team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including IT, operations, compliance, and finance, to integrate risk management practices into all aspects of the platform’s development and operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company’s operations comply with all applicable regulations and standards. Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver risk management training programs for employees and financial advisors to enhance their understanding and awareness of risk-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Financial Risk Manager, Certified Risk Management Professional) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in a senior risk management role within the financial services industry, preferably with experience in platform-based financial services.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
  • Experience with financial transaction processing systems is a plus.
