Senior Medical Malpractice Claims Representative


Job Description


Medical Mutual Liability Insurance is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated professional to join our ProAd subsidiary division as a Senior Medical Malpractice Claims Representative. This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Richmond, Virginia office.


In this exciting role on our nationally respected Claims team, you will apply exceptional critical thinking skills to guide the defense of complex medical malpractice litigation. By collaborating with insureds, defense attorneys, and our management team, you will direct and resolve complex medical and dental malpractice claims. You will use research and analysis to develop and execute proactive defenses for your assigned claims. You will also provide outstanding service to our insureds and be an active member of the defense team by regularly meeting with insureds and attorneys. Ultimately, you will apply your understanding of medical and legal issues from a layperson’s perspective to prepare your claims for trial and to negotiate settlements.


Requirements:


  • Relevant Four-year college degree
  • 5+ years of claims experience and/or litigation experience with a focus on handling medical professional liability insurance, or a similar line of insurance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Licensed attorney and/or RN encouraged to apply
