Job Summary:

The Demand Manager - IT will play a crucial role in managing the demand for IT services and projects. This position involves collaborating with various departments to understand their IT needs, forecasting IT demand, and ensuring that IT resources are allocated effectively to meet business objectives. The Demand Manager will work closely with the IT, finance, and business operations teams to align IT demand with the company’s strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Demand Planning and Forecasting:
  • Develop and maintain forecasts for IT demand based on business needs, project pipelines, and technology trends.
  • Analyze historical data, market trends, and business insights to predict future IT requirements.
  • Utilize advanced forecasting tools and techniques to improve accuracy in IT demand planning.
  • Resource Management:
  • Monitor and manage the allocation of IT resources to ensure they meet the demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to identify resource gaps and plan for capacity needs.
  • Optimize resource utilization to balance workloads and ensure timely delivery of IT projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with business units, IT teams, and finance to gather and validate IT demand requirements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review IT demand forecasts and align on priorities.
  • Communicate IT demand plans and changes effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT demand planning and resource management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for variances in IT demand forecasts and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on IT demand trends and performance.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to enhance IT demand planning processes and systems.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in IT demand planning methodologies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT demand planning, IT resource management, or a related role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of successful IT demand forecasting and resource allocation.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software and IT resource management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge of IT project management methodologies and tools.
  • Certification in IT management or project management (e.g., PMP, ITIL).
