VP of Business Intelligence

Job Description:
The Vice President of Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for setting the strategic vision, leading development, and executing the company's business intelligence and analytics initiatives, particularly within the property claims sector. This role focuses on customer-facing analytics, reporting, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The VP will transform data assets into actionable insights that drive value for clients and maintain the company's competitive position in the industry. This includes overseeing the ETL team for XactAnalysis Insights and ensuring modern and accurate data management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead and manage customer-facing analytics, reporting, and client relationships.
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal leadership and customer data teams.
- Guide the ETL team responsible for XactAnalysis Insights, ensuring the tool provides continuous value.
- Data and Analytics Management:
- Oversee the modernization and accuracy of data practices, including generating new data points.
- Define and document analytics workflows to meet business objectives.
- Drive the identification of new capabilities and market trends for the analytics team.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners on analytics projects.
- Promote data literacy, security, and analytics usage across the organization.
- Communicate complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project and Team Management:
- Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team, acting as a player-coach.
- Manage large-scale analytics, reporting, and business intelligence projects.
- Ensure effective data integration, testing, and accuracy verification.
- Thought Leadership and Reporting:
- Position the company as a thought leader in analytics within the P&C property restoration industry.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of analytics initiatives.
- Regularly report analytics performance and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related advanced degree.
- Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with Property Estimating Solutions products or property-based analytics and customer workflows.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale analytics and business intelligence projects.
- Experience in the insurance and claims market with a deep understanding of relevant workflows.
- History of building and leading high-functioning analytics teams, ideally in the insurance industry.
- Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data analysis, and reporting technologies.
- Strong project management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, including cross-functional team guidance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into business strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing business needs and technologies.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external partners.
- Experience with generative AI is a plus.
