Manufacturing Quality Manager

Our client, a $1B+ rapidly growing, recession-proof manufacturer, is an industry leader in the manufacturing of metal fabricated equipment in North America. With facilities across North America, they specialize in products, systems, and solutions to help collect, store, transport, and manage a wide range of materials.
The Quality Manager will lead efforts in building integrated systems for managing quality processes. This includes human work factors, logistics, material flow, and production data to identify trends and areas requiring quality improvement.
Location
Williamstown, NJ. Onsite position
Travel: At least once a month with the possibility of up to 40%
Job Details
- Uses lean tools and advanced quality concepts to continuously improve the quality of product and reduce cost of poor quality
- Manage the overall Quality Management System per defined standards
- Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives using methodologies such as Kaizen/Six Sigma
- Transform QC (quality control) based system to a QA (quality assurance) based system: Manage customer issues to effective resolution / Manage and enhance the effectiveness of the CAPA system / Drive the process to achieve effective root cause solutions / Manage and enhance the effectiveness of the internal audit system / Establish and maintain key departmental goals, objectives and performance metrics / Manage the process of documenting, enhancing and maintaining effective inspections, tests and calibration systems to assure product compliance
- Develop, train, direct, coach, evaluate, and lead others
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) in key processes to reduce variation
- Monitor and address all issues entered into the corporate CQA (Customer Quality Alert) system
- Monitor supplier process capability and quality performance
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required, engineering discipline or related.
- 5 years of experience in engineering, operations, R&D, within a manufacturing environment preferred, 5+ years’ experience in quality
- 3-5 years of experience in coaching and executing quality programs
- Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques and concepts
