As the Technical Communications Intern, you will help manage and execute the communication strategy both internally and externally regarding communication needs, timelines, and execution across all areas of the business. You will be responsible for researching, creating, and introducing processes that will increase the efficiency of how we ideate, create, and improve our communication practices. In addition, you will also be leading all phases of information development: researching, writing, designing, recording, editing, and proofreading multimodal communications that support both our internal projects (such as security and compliance, maintaining data models and technical diagrams, and building out developer-focused content), and external initiatives (such as training materials of all forms, product marketing content and collateral, and sales materials).


What You’ll Do

Internally

•        Create and implement goal-oriented communication processes internally and externally.

•        Create and maintain technical diagrams, data models, and other highly technical documentation for internal-use only.

•        Assess, determine a need for, and proactively execute on any additional communication needs for the Mortgage365 team to increase efficiency and clarity.  

•       Manage and execute security and compliance policies and procedure communications and documentation within Mortgage365.  

•        Support employee engagement activities including team events, birthdays, and recognition programs.

•        Partner with the Operations Manager as needed to support and enable internal communication within the organization.

Externally

•       Maintain Mortgage365 Training Suite (Mortgage365 User Guide, Admin Guides, and Getting Started Materials, etc.) ensuring it’s updated and ready for distribution to clients at each release

•        Lead the development and management of communication materials to support the product implementation process, including Template Product Implementation Folder & Files

•        Work closely with technical and product teams to analyze complex product information and synthesize it into clear, concise messaging with distinct calls to action.

•        Partner with Director of Product Marketing to establish and maintain Mortgage365 Brand Guidelines, to ensure brand image and consistency across all communication materials.

•        Identify and present opportunities for consistency in messaging and customer experience across channels.

•        Work closely with the Director of Product Marketing as well as the Operations Manager to ensure that public-facing messaging aligns with the technical direction of the product.

•        Support the creation of executive presentations and communications in messaging, cohesion, and visual design.


Your Background

·        College or University Level student in a communications-based field.

·        Interest and previous research in technical/product communications

·        Strong written communication skills

·        Ability to take a strategic approach to communication planning and process building

  • Ability to take large, complex items and break them down into understandable and actionable components
  • Skilled application of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the drive to learn about and continually advance in this skillset
  • Skilled application in Adobe Creative Suite such as Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop
  • Highly organized and naturally Intune with enabling efficient and self-sustaining workflows and processes


Compensation

$25-$30 an hour. The exact compensation will be determined by the skill and experience of qualified candidates.
