WHAT YOU'LL DO:


Innovate and Lead:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and champion DOT's comprehensive plan for AI utilization, fostering innovation while managing associated risks.
  • Advisory Role: Provide expert advice to senior leaders, including the CIO, Assistant Secretary for Research & Technology, CFO, and Chief Human Capital Officer. Your insights will shape the Department’s AI research objectives, resource allocation, and necessary workforce skills.


Collaborate and Represent:

  • Interagency Coordination: Represent DOT on the Federal CAIO Council and other interagency bodies, ensuring cohesive and effective AI strategies across governmental agencies.
  • Partnerships: Work closely with Departmental officials and external stakeholders to promote and implement innovative AI solutions.


Manage and Oversee:

  • Risk Management: Lead programs to identify and mitigate risks associated with AI, particularly those impacting safety and rights. Establish processes to monitor and evaluate AI applications, ensuring they meet their intended objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure the Department's AI applications comply with relevant laws and policies through thorough risk assessments and adherence to established guidelines.
