Your expertise will enhance transportation safety through a robust AI program that aligns with the latest OMB guidance and NIST’s AI Risk Management Framework. If you're passionate about leveraging AI to revolutionize national infrastructure, this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Innovate and Lead:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and champion DOT's comprehensive plan for AI utilization, fostering innovation while managing associated risks.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice to senior leaders, including the CIO, Assistant Secretary for Research & Technology, CFO, and Chief Human Capital Officer. Your insights will shape the Department’s AI research objectives, resource allocation, and necessary workforce skills.
Collaborate and Represent:
- Interagency Coordination: Represent DOT on the Federal CAIO Council and other interagency bodies, ensuring cohesive and effective AI strategies across governmental agencies.
- Partnerships: Work closely with Departmental officials and external stakeholders to promote and implement innovative AI solutions.
Manage and Oversee:
- Risk Management: Lead programs to identify and mitigate risks associated with AI, particularly those impacting safety and rights. Establish processes to monitor and evaluate AI applications, ensuring they meet their intended objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure the Department's AI applications comply with relevant laws and policies through thorough risk assessments and adherence to established guidelines.
