Job Summary:

The Supervisor of IT and Administrative Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the security of the organization's information technology systems and administrative operations. This role involves developing and implementing security policies, monitoring IT systems for security breaches, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Supervisor will lead a team of IT security professionals and collaborate with other departments to protect sensitive data and maintain the integrity of the organization's IT infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT and administrative security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor IT systems for security breaches, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate response to security incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Ensure the protection of sensitive data and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and supervise a team of IT security professionals and administrative staff.
  • Assign tasks, manage work schedules, and ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and best practices within the organization.
  • Access Control and Identity Management:
  • Manage access control systems and ensure proper user authentication and authorization.
  • Oversee the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts and access privileges.
  • Implement and monitor multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other access control measures.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security threats.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
  • Prepare and submit security compliance reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.
  • Incident Response and Recovery:
  • Establish and maintain an incident response plan for IT security breaches and administrative security incidents.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address security incidents and minimize impact.
  • Oversee the recovery process and ensure the restoration of normal operations after an incident.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address security needs and concerns.
  • Communicate security policies, procedures, and best practices to all employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments on security-related matters.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT security, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT security and data privacy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) preferred.


Working Conditions:

  • The role involves working in an office environment, with occasional requirements for on-site visits or remote work.
  • May require working outside of regular business hours to address security incidents or perform system maintenance.
  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, using computer equipment, and occasional lifting of IT equipment.
