The VP will play a pivotal role in amplifying our impact across the region by spearheading the development and execution of a robust philanthropy program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy strategy to identify, cultivate, and secure new donors.
  • Formulate and execute plans to increase community philanthropic partnerships.
  • Facilitate all gifts from prospective donors, including non-cash, deferred, and testamentary gifts.
  • Research and initiate a planned giving program focusing on professional advisor outreach.
  • Lead and manage the Philanthropy team
  • Provide high-level internal and external leadership
  • Work with the President and CEO, Leadership Team, and Board to cultivate and strengthen relationships that drive positive change in Miami.
  • Act as the primary liaison to professional advisors, managing the Professional Advisor Committee and network.
  • Engage with professional advisors to keep the organization at the forefront of donor’s philanthropic plans. Research & develop bequests, planned gifts, real estate, and private foundation conversions.
  • Utilize data insights to determine strategic direction and improve fundraising processes
  • Establish clear department policies and procedures to guide philanthropic activities.
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive donor database to track and analyze donor information.
  • Proactively identify and create a portfolio of individual, corporate, foundation, government, and grant donors.
  • Develop and maintain a systematic approach to donor solicitation, cultivation, gift acceptance, and stewardship.
  • Identify new opportunities for community giving and establish co-partnerships and collaborations to enhance fundraising.
  • Familiarity with meeting quotas, fundraising goals, and fundraising analysis (Mix, Resources, ROI)
  • Developing a Fundraising Plan, Moves Management, Blackbaud CRM, Wealth Screenings
  • CFRE certification is an extra plus.
  • Be prepared to make direct asks and develop proposals to secure funding.
  • Set and achieve annual fundraising goals with a focus on year-over-year growth.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or Business Development related roles.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and building donor relationships or similar experiences.
  • Strong data analytics skills and proficiency in donor management software.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
