Job Overview:

The Vice President of Client Engagement will play a pivotal role within the Know Your Client (KYC) Outreach teams, operating under the Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) and Global Markets (GM) divisions.

Team Function:

The Client Engagement team serves as the primary interface with clients, ensuring compliance with KYC periodic refresh and remediation protocols. This team collaborates closely with Global Corporate and Investment Bankers and Global Markets Sales to fulfill the Bank's global regulatory and policy mandates regarding Client Due Diligence (CDD) documentation, with backing from Operations and Global Financial Crimes Risk teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate outreach to clients for the purpose of requesting and gathering KYC documentation.
  • Act as the main liaison for clients, as well as internal stakeholders including Bankers, Operations, and Risk teams.
  • Ensure clarity in banking ownership and collaborate across Lines of Business to address any relationship coverage gaps.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of client interactions in designated systems.
  • Oversee KYC client portfolios to ensure comprehensive coverage across various business sectors and compliance with internal governance protocols.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance in KYC processes, including potential restrictions and impacts on business growth.
  • Collect and analyze client feedback on policies and requirements to enhance the Bank's processes.
  • Identify and propose process improvements that benefit client experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Banking, Sales, and other relevant departments as necessary.
  • Evaluate client activities and consult with Bankers regarding the continuation of relationships with specific entities.
  • Lead outreach efforts for both periodic refreshes and remediation initiatives.
  • Ensure timely collection of required client documentation, including necessary follow-ups.
  • Advocate for the client’s voice while adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Meet performance metrics and resolve any exceptions within stipulated timeframes.
  • Master customer due diligence (CDD) requirements and guide clients to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to the Bank's privacy policies in securing sensitive information obtained during KYC activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a client-facing role within the financial services sector or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
  • In-depth knowledge of AML CDD policies and standards, as well as industry practices in AML CDD across global jurisdictions.
  • Strong client focus and understanding of how client relationships contribute to overall business strategy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and motivation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Flexibility in managing multiple projects and adapting to changing environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Work Schedule:

Standard first shift hours, full-time commitment.
