Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain Roadside and Host systems encompassing Linux, Windows, Oracle, and SQL databases.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with team members to resolve application, database, and user account issues.
  • Manage and resolve access-related issues leveraging LDAP and Single Sign-On (SSO) administrative tools.
  • Provide direct support for user requests and system issues related to the Roadside and Host systems.
  • Participate in after-hours projects and provide on-call support as necessary.
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to identify and resolve issues effectively.

Key Technical Responsibilities:

  • Unix Administration:
  • Manage users and computers within the system.
  • Configure and manage sites and services.
  • Database Management:
  • Execute SQL and Oracle queries for data selection and updates.
  • Understand and monitor database replication processes.
  • Hardware Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware configuration issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors for hardware and software resolutions.
  • Access Control:
  • Configure and manage LDAP using tools like Apache Directory Studio.
  • Administer Single Sign-On (SSO) for web-based applications.
  • Web Services:
  • Understand transaction delivery through web services.
  • Backup and Recovery:
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience:
  • 3–5 years of IT work experience, showcasing high expertise across multiple system environments.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
  • Strong knowledge of Unix and Windows systems.
  • Proficiency with Oracle and SQL databases, including writing and executing queries.
  • Experience with LDAP and SSO administration.
  • Familiarity with hardware diagnostics and vendor collaboration.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Documentation:
  • Ability to document processes and completed work in a standardized format.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Availability for after-hours and weekend support.
  • Proven ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
  • Experience with system backup, recovery, and overall IT infrastructure management.
