The Evans Group (TEG Intl.) is seeking a full-time, in-house apparel Product Development Manager for our Los Angeles office


As a Product Development Manager, you will create cohesive product development assets for our varied projects and those of our clients created in partnership with Teg’s development and production team. Ensuring fabric, fit and quality are driven through the product development process, you will lead our emerging designer clients in creating design assets, tech packs, and source fabrics and trims in order for our team to successfully develop and produce their collections.  


Working in our Los Angeles office, the ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated, success-driven individual who believes in creativity, collaboration, quality, and compared-to-none client experiences from initial introduction throughout the development process. Fundamental to the job is providing leadership, education, and guidance to our clientele of emerging designers. The best fit will be experienced with PLM platforms, technical design, understanding of fabrics and trims, domestic sourcing, fit, and highly organized, detailed, and well-versed in Adobe Creative Cloud applications. 


Duties include:


  • Use and management of Teg’s PLM platform for best practices.
  • Creating and managing high-quality tech packs, with detailed specs in construction, fabrications, etc.
  • Collaborating with TEG team and clients to ensure designs and fabric selections are accurately translated into tech-packs.
  • Fulfilling assigned projects throughout the process and assisting in managing schedules and timelines for all projects
  • Ensuring timely transitions of active projects into the development phase.
  • Using existing project management software to track and fulfill timelines, schedule, update clients weekly, and track all stages of assigned projects.
  • Please make sure projects are moving smoothly to avoid bottlenecks in project flow.
  • Assist in creating and promoting an inspiring, educational, and effective development process for our emerging designer clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborating with TEG team and assigned clients on each step of the design, sourcing and pre-production process, offering exceptional client service at every point of contact.
  • Working with a sense of urgency to provide the quickest turnaround and seamless delivery to clients in each phase.
  • Conducting intake meetings with each assigned client to ascertain and review the overall needs of each project, provide input to clients, and inform them of their options and choices.
  • Creating initial project decks, mood boards, logos, flat drawings, design concepts, TEG spec sheets or tech packs,, and any other visual assets needed for each project.
  • Advising clients to establish target costing, identify appropriate target markets, and tailor all client needs according to the outlined project scope.
  • Working with TEG team and all clients assigned for design services on developing their designs and collections, from initial concept ideation and pre-production.
  • Partnering with TEG team and clients for domestic sourcing services, on fabric and trim sourcing, identifying fabric yields and quantities, and establishing pricing and availability of goods.
  • Assisting in generating sample PO’s, and facilitating ordering fabrics, trims, and any components needed for prototype sampling.
  • Assisting TEG team in guiding all clients assigned into the development phase of prototyping their collections.
  • Assisting with research, cultivation, and maintaining an effective, innovative, and comprehensive, up-to-date sourcing library for clients.
  • Assisting Patternmakers with fitting notes to ensure all adjustment specs are translated into final tech-packs.
  • Assisting the development team in quality control ensuring all specs are communicated through the development process with the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Multi-tasking several projects at the same time.

Skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical design and product development background (min 3 years).
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, with experience in PLM platforms.
  • Experience handling multiple projects at the same time.
  • Highly organized, motivated and detail oriented.
  • Professionally manage every project and client interaction.
  • Provide a patient, instructional, informative approach with Teg’s clientelle of emerging designers.
  • Passionate about providing a world-class, second- to-none experience for all of our clients.
