Job Title: Level 1 Help Desk Technician

Location: Onsite

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Level 1 Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, setting up computers, and assisting with Office 365-related issues. This is an onsite role requiring excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Computer Setup: Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Office 365 Support: Assist users with issues related to Office 365, including email setup, password resets, and troubleshooting application problems.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues, escalating more complex problems to higher-level support when necessary.
  • User Assistance: Guide end-users through problem-solving processes and provide training on basic computer functions and software applications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all support requests, issues, and resolutions in the help desk system.
  • Hardware Management: Manage and track IT equipment inventory, ensuring all hardware is properly documented and maintained.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless IT operations and share knowledge of common issues and solutions.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with users to understand and resolve their IT needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a help desk or technical support role preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in setting up and configuring desktop and laptop computers.
  • Experience with Office 365 administration and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, onsite position with standard office hours. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
