This position is responsible for creating technical and commercial proposals for customers' plant electrical power generation needs. By using their experience, they will interpret complex electrical and mechanical specifications. Through close collaboration with customers and internal business partners they will develop conceptual solutions to meet customer specifications. The Senior Commercial Engineer will then be able use corporate cost methods to develop cost models and create customer proposals. Position is based in Janesville, WI, candidate must have degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and proposal writing experience. Experience with electrical power systems preferred.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret Electrical Power generation system specifications

• Collaborate closely with customers and internal business partners on solutions

• Create best cost concept solutions to meet the requirements of customer specifications

• Create technical and commercial bid proposals for concept solutions

• Ensure system level manufacturability

• Create and maintain manufacturing cost model database

• Ability to solve customer problems by creating unique power generation solutions

• Identifies cost reduction opportunities

• Perform other job related duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience

• 7+ years related experience

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly operations

• Understanding of North American power generation standards and regulations

• Basic business knowledge

• Demonstrated ability to work independently

• Ability to read and interpret system specifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Office, MRP and AutoCAD/Inventor is a plus

• Travel
