Job Summary

As an Automation Manager at Wide Effect Talent Solutions, you will lead and manage Automation's design engineering, integration, customer service, CAD, and panel shop teams. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, service partners, and internal company divisions related to Automation. Your responsibilities will include developing and overseeing market-relevant strategies for technology, brands, and services, as well as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employee relations for direct reports. You will assess team strengths and weaknesses, driving continuous improvement through talent development initiatives, and define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure projects meet quality, scope, schedule, budget, and labor productivity goals. Additionally, you will drive operational efficiency by developing and enforcing standard operating procedures, practices, and processes, and provide reports on project performance, status, risks, and mitigation plans. You will also forecast and plan for revenue, labor demands, and staffing requirements, lead annual operational planning and budgeting efforts, and analyze and resolve complex technical and operational problems. Furthermore, you will oversee the development of proposals, equipment specifications, and bills of materials, collaborate with leadership to support project and contract governance, work closely with other divisions to address project and technical needs, collaborate with the sales team to define and execute the Automation sales strategy, partner with marketing to shape and implement the Automation marketing strategy, and work with the purchasing team to execute the purchasing strategy. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, and 10+ years of automation/controls/engineering experience, 5+ years of project management experience, and strong knowledge of industry-related technology, regulations, trends, and best practices. The candidate should also have the ability to develop, implement, and administer policies and procedures with sound judgment, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a collaborative team player with a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Automation's design engineering, integration, customer service, CAD, and panel shop teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, service partners, and internal company divisions related to Automation.
Develop and oversee market-relevant strategies for technology, brands, and services.
Recruit, interview, hire, and manage employee relations for direct reports.
Assess team strengths and weaknesses, driving continuous improvement through talent development initiatives.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure projects meet quality, scope, schedule, budget, and labor productivity goals.
Drive operational efficiency by developing and enforcing standard operating procedures, practices, and processes.
Provide reports on project performance, status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Forecast and plan for revenue, labor demands, and staffing requirements.

Analyze and resolve complex technical and operational problems.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of automation/controls/engineering experience.
5+ years of project management experience.
Strong knowledge of industry-related technology, regulations, trends, and best practices.
Ability to develop, implement, and administer policies and procedures with sound judgment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative team player with a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
