Automation Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Automation’s design engineering, integration, customer service, CAD, and panel shop teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, service partners, and internal company divisions related to Automation.
- Develop and oversee market-relevant strategies for technology, brands, and services.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and manage employee relations for direct reports.
- Assess team strengths and weaknesses, driving continuous improvement through talent development initiatives.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure projects meet quality, scope, schedule, budget, and labor productivity goals.
- Drive operational efficiency by developing and enforcing standard operating procedures, practices, and processes.
- Provide reports on project performance, status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Forecast and plan for revenue, labor demands, and staffing requirements.
- Lead annual operational planning and budgeting efforts.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical and operational problems.
- Oversee the development of proposals, equipment specifications, and bills of materials.
- Collaborate with leadership to support project and contract governance.
- Work closely with other divisions to address project and technical needs.
- Collaborate with the sales team to define and execute the Automation sales strategy.
- Partner with marketing to shape and implement the Automation marketing strategy.
- Work with the purchasing team to execute the purchasing strategy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of automation/controls/engineering experience
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Experience in the design of industrial plants and warehouses, central chilled water and heating plants, water pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants, or other related industries.
- Strong knowledge of industry-related technology, regulations, trends, and best practices.
- Ability to develop, implement, and administer policies and procedures with sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels.
- A collaborative team player with a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
