POSITION OVERVIEW: SIGMA is a worldwide, privately held and family-owned manufacturer of photographic equipment looking for an experienced and creative Content Creator to join our growing marketing team.

 

SIGMA’s Content Creator will develop, write, shoot, edit and publish various types of content pieces for SIGMA’s photo and cinematography products, including both long and short-form video content, various types of photography, articles / blog posts about industry and product related topics, marketing copy, and promotional materials for trade shows and events. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with digital publishing and the photography/cinematography industry. This role is an in-office position reporting to the Marketing Content Supervisor.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Creation

·       Craft messaging, conceptualize, manage, create/produce, and post content including photo, video, blogs, and additional promotional messaging based on overall brand.       

·       Effectively communicate with individuals and organizations within the photography and film industry to further company needs in relation to content production.

·       Edit and proofread written pieces before publication.

·       Produce and publish written pieces using platforms such as WordPress.

·       Research and be well-informed on industry-related topics.

·       Identify customers’ needs and recommend new content pieces and related strategies.

·       Conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to optimize content.

·       Work with outside agencies to plan/coordinate website content.

·       Craft, coordinate, and schedule content calendar in coordination w/ overall marketing direction with attention to timing and cadence (project management).

·       Inform and provide support and direction to social media efforts, supplementing the content and posting for more timely events/news i.e., new products.

·       Measure web traffic to content (e.g. conversion and bounce rates)

·       Update our websites as needed.

 

Marketing Communications

·       Assists in the preparation of team marketing presentations.

·       Assists in the development of marketing collateral materials, including brochures, flyers, print advertisements.

·       Supports marketing team members on projects as needed.

·       Supports dealer marketing and sales support team with Ambassador presentations and content.

·       Supports PR and marketing content manager on public/media relations as required.


Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Content Creator, Copywriter, or similar role with experience in video production and photography preferred
  • Portfolio of written work – blogs, news, marketing copy, promotions, etc. 
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
  • Experience with digital publishing and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Familiarity with SEO

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, video production, journalism, or relevant field
  • Experience in photography video, film, etc. strongly preferred
